Session Description
This presentation will share how Central Washington University’s (CWU) Brooks Library and Multimodal Education Center (MEC) collaborated to migrate the MEC collection into the Brook’s Library’s Alma/Primo system. This collaboration established a single search interface for all the university’s library collections. The MEC previously used Follett Destiny to manage their small collection of approximate 20,000 items housed in the School of Education. The Brooks Library staff, collaborating with the MEC staff, to independently conduct and complete the migration within eight months in 2016. The entire process of the migration including physical inventory, data cleanup, configuration and integration, data load, self-check machine set up, publishing Alma data to Primo, and project management will be briefly reviewed and systematically described. Lessons and experiences learned will be shared.
