Session Description

This session is intended to highlight the ways in which Resource Sharing can be adapted and expanded for use in a variety of libraries. The University of Wisconsin System is a consortium of academic libraries, but within that consortium is the Area Research Center (ARC) Network, a unique cooperative inter-archives loan program between the Wisconsin Historical Society and the University of Wisconsin System.

We expanded on our basic Resource Sharing Network between UW campuses and launched a pilot project for Resource Sharing by select ARC Network partners in the fall of 2016. By moving from a predominantly paper-based, mediated delivery system into Resource Sharing, we are now able to provide our archivists with dynamic statistical analysis of the usage of their collections.

This session is aimed at library directors and special collections administrators. It seeks to provide inspiration for ways in which they can leverage Alma and Resource Sharing in unexpected places.
