How can teachers identify the important and interesting aspects of an audio or video piece for classroom instruction? Using a TEDtalk as an exmaple, this presentation provides a simple framework for going beyond comprehension questions to explore discourse structure, pronunciation, and pragmatics, and to create activities to help learners develop better listening skills and strategies.
