It is time to review the schedule for the placement of your session in the AAACE Agenda. This is the final draft of the Schedule. When you look up your name, use the detail listing to check what days/times you asked to be placed. This is a huge program and we can accommodate necessary changes in day and time now, but may not be able to do so after September 1, 2013 except in emergencies. Please carefully check your placement and send any requests to Ginger Phillips, AAACE Conference Planner with AAACE Session Change Request in the subject line. We will respond to your email, but it may take us up to a week to do so. Thanks for your help in "fine tuning" this agenda!
Roundtable Discussion (45 minutes)
The rapid growth of distance education has resulted many instructors teaching online without an understanding of online teaching. How instructors learn to teach online is the focus of this roundtable.
Any instructor who has made the move from traditional face-to-face teaching to online teaching.
Attendees will leave the session with a better understanding of the processes associated with learning to teach online. The presenter will draw upon his research on how instructors learn to teach online as a basis for this roundtable discussion.
The roundtable format is important, as participants will be sharing their experiences and comparing notes with each other. The researcher has found that many new online teachers learn to teach online through a somewhat solitary process of trial and error. This type of discussion will help attendees learn about what others are doing, as well as what research shows about the process of learning teach online.
