*Structured Thoughts: Teaching Writing Strategies
Session Abstract
During this presentation, participants will learn how to explicitly teach writing strategies to English Learners and struggling students. With the use of visual aid and hand gestures, participants will be exposed to a foundation in which students can build upon. Through diagramming sentences with symbols participants will be exposed to techniques in teaching sentence structure. In addition, participants will learn how to use these writing strategies and apply them to reading comprehension.
