Session Abstract

Purposes for language use drive curriculum and instruction for English language learners. Looking from an assets-based perspective, we examine classroom routines across content areas through four key uses of academic language to gain insight into how language development unfolds in conjunction with content learning. Video clips illustrate teachers’ curriculum enactment.
