The Orbis Cascade Alliance Primo Customization Standing Group (PCSG) has built on the work of the Primo Customization Joint Working Group and established architecture for developing, sharing, and maintaining customizations for Primo Explore using the Central Package. We propose to present three key aspects of our work: First, we combined technological and policy solutions to solicit and prioritize customization suggestions, track development, and disseminate completed customizations. Second, we developed a set of best practices for developers that would ensure key requirements for our consortium environment, namely that customizations be opt-in and that they not interfere with local customizations. Third, we developed a number of specific customizations that we saw as high priorities for the Alliance; customizations currently in development that should be in production by May include “Text a call number”, “Enlarge cover on click”, and “Custom linking to appear in brief record”.
