The panel discusses the current situation select areas in the Philippines in terms of drinking and wastewater by providing characterizing both sectors. One city is predominatly domestic, with commercial and agricultural land uses while the other is predominatly domestic but with mining areas. The results show contrasting physico-chemical characteristics of both the drinking water source and the by-products of the wastewater sector. Cost-efficient solutions to treat both the sludge and the grey water are also presented.
