Supporting Non-binary and Genderqueer Youth
Workshop Description
How can parents and families understand and support young people who identify outside of the gender binary? This workshop will discuss the outcomes of a participatory action research project that asked non-binary and genderqueer adults what would make counseling more helpful for them. The results will be discussed and extended to family systems, with an emphasis on helping family members understand the unique needs of non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, and other gender-nonconforming young people.
