2018 Gender Odyssey

This workshop addresses numerous issues that might come up for transgender students in the classroom. We collaboratively discuss terminology, community policy work, and legal issues along with creating a trans-positive environment for students. We also review model policies, creating institutional as well as cultural change and learning how to listen to trans youth. The programming is suited for teachers, parents, volunteers, staff, and faculty of K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. This workshops is primarily discussion-based and will address the topics that the attendees find the most pertinent to their local communities.
