Eating Away at Gender Identity

Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM–12:20 PM PDT
Maple
Workshop Description

This workshop addresses the intersections of disordered eating, size, and gender. Gender-nonconforming, non-binary, genderqueer, and trans people are four times more likely to have an eating disorder or disordered eating. Yet, most folx are either misdiagnosed or under diagnosed. Personal stories are weaved into eating disorder and weight stigma awareness to create a better understanding of these clinical challenges for professionals and for those seeking help.
