Affordable Aesthetics to Augment Gender Transition
Workshop Description
Appropriate gender expression—as defined by each individual for themself—isn't a frill. It can even be a matter of personal safety. Yet definitive surgeries such as facial feminization can cost a fortune, and are rarely covered by insurance. This workshop explores some of the aesthetic offerings available in my family practice. While the definition of "affordable" varies considerably, come explore some of the less expensive and less invasive procedures we offer to assist our clients as they transition. We will cover laser and electrolysis hair removal, breast forms, shapewear, Botox and dermal fillers for enhancement of facial features, and cryolipolysis (Coolsculpting) for non-invasive body contouring. We will also discuss topical anesthetics and injectable nerve blocks to help patients experience less pain (some of our clients sleep during genital electrolysis!). Consider this session a "Show and Tell" presentation that will help you answer your clients' questions.
