Over the last few years, there has been increased visibility for transgender children who are on the autism spectrum. Workshop attendees will share experiences including supportive and loving approaches to parenting, navigating barriers, and promoting advocacy. Join us for an expert-led discussion in which you can celebrate your child as well as share your fears, concerns, and tips with one another!

Tai Vo
Presenter Bio

Tai Vo is a scholar, artist, and activist based in Toronto. Their work, both in Toronto and New York City, has involved founding and sustaining programs that center the needs of queer, trans, and two-spirit people, with a focus on newcomers, disabled folks, and people of color through counselling, case management, youth engagement, outreach, and arts initiatives. He directed the award-winning documentary Our Compass, which was co-written by queer and trans youth labelled with intellectual disabilities. Tai is committed to fostering both self and community determination for all queer, trans, and two-spirit peoples.

Naveed Sarikhan
Presenter Bio

Naveed Sarikhan is a disabled, trans, mixed-race therapist who operates a private practice in Federal Way and Tacoma, Washington.
