Doing it for Themselves: Giving Selectors the Tools to Run Their Own Alma Analytics Reports
Conference or Developers Day
Conference
Abstract
How much have I spent this year? Can you give me a list of my selections from last year? Since selectors are rarely trained to run such reports themselves, these are questions they commonly ask collection development and acquisitions librarians. Prior to migrating to Alma at California State University, Fullerton, the Collection Development Librarian or the Acquisitions Librarian sent monthly updates to selectors or ran custom reports on request. However, in Alma, the Collection Development Librarian created an Analytics report that allows selectors to input date ranges and reporting codes themselves to generate the reports they need with almost no Alma training. This allows the flexibility for selectors to run reports on multiple reporting codes and/or long or short date ranges for their own purposes, rather than simply receiving an automatically generated report on a routine basis. This presentation will demonstrate this process and discuss the training provided for selectors.
