Usability Testing during New Primo UI Implementation
Conference or Developers Day
Conference
Abstract
In preparation for a migration from Primo Legacy platform to the New Primo User Interface, Clark College Libraries introduced their new Primo UI Library Catalogue in beta to their campus community in Spring 2018. During this academic term, members of Library User Experience Committee collaborated with the instructor of the User Experience Design course and his students on usability testing and design improvement proposals that would benefit the diverse student personas at Clark College. In addition to lessons learned from this partnership, this presentation will also discuss Library UX Committee’s attempts to conduct usability testing on a college-wide scale with limited resources, and their collaboration with campus Disability Support Services and colleagues at Orbis Cascade Alliance consortium on basic accessibility testing of the new Primo UI. Clark College is a community college in Washington State. Clark College Libraries migrated to Alma and Primo shared ILS in 2014.
