Abstract
In May 2017, Karolinska Institutet, University Library initiated a project in order to formulate sustainable and transparent methods and models for evaluation of electronic media acquisitions. Since migrating to Alma in 2015 most of the relevant data for evaluating acquisitions is hosted in the same system. Analytics gave us the opportunity to automate much of the aggregation process. We also wanted to extend the range of metrics evaluated. By adding bibliometric data to Alma, Analytics let us cross reference this valuable aspect of our collections with the acquisitions data present in Alma. We managed to break down the barrier between two information silos within our organization which we have tried to bridge for a long time. In our presentation, we share how the user-centered methods at the heart of the project, paired with the possibilities of the Analytics OBI, resulted in a model and tool for evaluation of electronic media that responded well to the identified user needs.
