Out of the box: Making the Primo box work for you
Conference or Developers Day
Conference
Abstract
The reality of discovery layer management for many institutions is to be eternally low on time and developer skills, while still wanting to optimize the user experience and be responsive to feedback. Primo is a powerful tool, with great capabilities for impressive integrations and enhancements, but there may be limited resources for developing, testing, implementing, and ongoing support for complicated customizations. This presentation will cover the University of Queensland Library's experience of our ‘out-of-the-box’ approach to Primo and what we’ve learned along the way, with a focus on how to make a positive impact with small incremental change, policy and decision-making around when we choose to customize and why, and some stories of success highlights and epic failures.
