With the imminent migration to the Primo new UI we wanted to take the opportunity to increase our understanding of our users' behaviour, with a particular focus on our academic staff. We undertook a series of interviews with staff from across faculties and roles to understand better their discovery processes. We identified actions to consider before the launch of the new UI. The work informed our thinking about the content of Primo, which search scopes to display as the default, and how we might promote certain functionality which would make our time-poor academics' search experience more efficient. Also, with the implementation of Leganto, we have started to think of alternative use cases for using that in combination with Primo.
