Raising the profile of a Resource Lists Service to engage with stakeholders
Conference or Developers Day
Conference
Abstract
In common with many institutions, the University of Edinburgh doesn’t have an institutional mandate to ensure academic staff use Resource Lists (Leganto) for their courses. Engaging with senior management, academics and students and encouraging them to buy-in to new (or alternative) ways of doing things requires many approaches and perseverance to capture and maintain interest. From social media and surveys to cakes and a Resource Lists Week, this presentation will outline some of the advocacy and promotional activities that have helped raise the profile of the Resource Lists service at Edinburgh to key stakeholders. The presentation will also outline recent initiatives to use Resource Lists to support other strategic projects, such as encouraging use of special collections in teaching and how Resource Lists can be used to support student projects and raise the profile of the service to wider audiences.
