ATWork—The Arizona Transgender Workplace Project: Creating a Trans-Supportive Employment Environment in Your Community
Workshop Description
This workshop’s primary training objective is to provide attendees with the tools to create and implement a program to help trans/gender-nonconforming (GNC) people in their communities gain community-specific employment search skills; assist employers to become aware of the unique needs of trans/gender-nonconforming jobseekers and employees; and create a program to facilitate the meeting of trans/GNC jobseekers with employers who are supportive and interested in hiring them.
This seminar will make specific provisions to discuss the experiences of non-binary people and suggestions regarding programming to support the special challenges they face. We will also discuss meeting the employment needs of trans/GNC people with special needs, including working with community support agencies and special needs job developers.
