Workshop Description

This session will focus on more complicated issues in hormone management for adults who present for gender care. Audience participation will be encouraged in this round-table discussion. The subtleties of hormone management and managing side effects and complications will be reviewed. Comorbid medical conditions and their influence on treatment options will also be discussed. The following topics may be included: preserving sexual function, reversing vaginal atrophy, managing persistent/recurrent menses, PreP, poor endogenous hormone suppression, SERMs, and alternative medication dosing options.

Kevin Hatfield
Presenter Bio

Kevin Hatfield, MD, is a family doctor at The Polyclinic’s downtown Seattle satellite. He joined The Polyclinic in 2002 and has taken care of Trans* patients since 1999. He sees a large number of gender-questioning/variant children and adolescents. Dr. Hatfield is an advocate for individualized patient care and helping patients make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being.
