Workshop Description
In this session, PhD student Lily Durwood will discuss recent research from the TransYouth Project, a national, longitudinal study of transgender and gender-nonconforming children. She will describe major discoveries about gender development and mental health in gender-diverse youth and how they are different from past work in this area.

Presenter Bio
Lily Durwood is a PhD student in developmental and child clinical psychology at the University of Washington. She received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University in 2010, where she majored in psychology and studies of women, gender, and sexuality. Her recent work on gender-diverse youth has been featured on Slate.com, NPR, and the Daily Beast.
