"Transparency in Leadership - How to be a beacon in the storm!"
Session Description
In todays higher education environment, the ability too keep the organization focused on the mission amid cultural and political changes and challenges is paramount. This session will include both a philosophical discussion of leadership transparency and a practical approach to leading the organization through such storms. Recent leadership challenges faced by the presenter will serve as a backdrop in order to provide relevant application for the benefit of those attending.

Brief Bio
Matt DeLozier has been the Vice President for Student Affairs at Northeast State Community College in TN since April of 2013. Prior to this position Matt has served in various roles at 2 different community colleges. Starting in Financial Aid, Matt was able to apply his problem solving skills gained from his years in the U.S. Army and business & industry immediately. He has worked not only at 2 different community colleges but also has worked on both the academic affairs and student affairs sides of both schools. From recruiting to developing early college high schools, the varied opportunities and experiences over 17 years give him a unique perspective on processes and leadership.
Matt as a A.A. degree from Haywood Community College in NC, a B.S. in Business Administration from Montreat College, a MA degree in Public Affairs/Political Science from Western Carolina University, and he hopes to complete his doctoral dissertation this year at ETSU, which is focused on leadership development at community colleges.
