Gender Identity and Expression: Title VII and Employment Law
Workshop Description
Despite the current administration’s efforts to undermine non-discrimination safeguards for LGBTQ people, numerous laws, policies, rulings, and regulations are in place that do provide either explicit or implied protection based on gender identity and gender expression. This session provides an overview of several federal, state, and local laws employers and professionals should be aware of regarding their trans and gender-diverse employees, patients, students, and/or clients. We'll also discuss historic court rulings, current policy trends, and thoughts about the work that lies ahead to keep us moving forward.
