2018 Gender Odyssey

When a parent steps up to the task of supporting their transgender or gender-exploring child, they often find that the next step involves changing the environment surrounding that child. If negotiating their own personal fears weren’t enough, parents are now in the position of educating siblings, extended family, friends, co-workers, teachers, neighbors, healthcare providers, childcare providers, and many others. This awareness-raising extends not only to individuals, but also to systems such as school communities, insurance companies, after school programs, and state and federal agencies. Join us in this session as parents share the journey that begins when they tell their child “yes.”
