Program Summary/Abstract Description

Davis School District in Utah has a large, K-12 Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program that is supported through the state DLI model but knows there must be two equally viable pathways to proficiency, because all students need bicultural and bilingual skills. To ensure it's language programs and teachers are focusing successfully on proficiency, the district has implemented a comprehensive assessment program that includes district-generated common assessments, such as Integrated Performance Assessments (IPAs) and the STAMP assessment. In this session, you will learn how they have been able to garner support for increased assessment, how they have increased their teachers' assessment proficiency, and how they use data in new and exciting ways, including how their data has dramatically increased AP testing numbers and success. Our students, parents, teachers, and administrators know they can rely on our data to ensure the highest quality language programs are available our students.
