Program Summary/Abstract Description

Spanish Dual Immersion has experienced a tremendous growth in the state of Utah over the past few years. To respond to the increasingly complex needs of the program, the secondary Spanish team has developed techniques that empower students to take ownership of their learning. The team has incorporated a number of effective tools and techniques including KWL charts, Linguafolio, Cornell notes and a 5th-Week evaluation. We provide ongoing training for our teachers to give them the keys to nurture autonomous learners in their classrooms.

In this session attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the implementation of successful strategies that Utah DLI has incorporated in the middle and secondary schools.
