Program Summary/Abstract Description

We are two Visiting Teachers from Spain working in the Spanish Immersion Program in two schools in Dover, Delaware. We come from a very innovative and successful school in Soria, Spain, whose academic results are better than the Finland results. We have trained principals and teachers from all over Spain and South America in different methodologies such as Thinking Routines and Skills, PBL, Gamification, Early Stimulation and Cooperative Learning.

This presentation is focused on making our students think in a more effective way, because we always ask them to think, but nobody has taught them how to do it. For that, we are going to show and practice some thinking strategies routines and structures that can be used effectively in an immersion environment. We have been using these thinking strategies with our Kinder Spanish Immersion students in Delaware for two years and we believe its a wonderful way for them to express their emotions and thoughts and develop discourse in Spanish.
