Program Summary/Abstract Description

Learning Centers and Literature Circles for the win!  True proficiency growth can only happen if we focus on literacy development.  Time constraints and focus on content often create challenges to developmental literacy in immersion classrooms.  In this session, we will explore how the use of learning centers and literature circles can help bridge immersion students into higher levels of literacy.  Learn how to coordinate and manage learning centers and literature circles to empower students to learn collaboratively.  Develop the routines and guiding practices to give you the chance to facilitate learning in a constructivist environment and to utilize small group instruction as a clear pathway to literacy enhancement.
