Program Summary/Abstract Description

The State of Utah is leading the change in Dual Language Immersion programs by
offering 3000-level course to high school students who have passed the AP exam.
Collaboratively, all higher institutions in the state are designing and implementing
three courses to be offered in the school districts. Each course counts towards a
language degree getting our students to graduate from high school being two classes
short from earning a minor in the foreign language.
This presentation will talk about the implementation of one of these courses in
Washington County in Southern Utah; how we established a team teaching
methodology; and, how we solved some issues that arose from growing pains.
