Program Summary/Abstract Description

This session focuses on efforts to recruit, motivate and support heritage Spanish and DLI students in post-AP, university course work in the high school setting, exploring language and culture as identity.

High school and university leaders will share program-level and classroom-level strategies to identify, counsel, motivate and support students to succeed in advanced high school courses that align to college readiness in both Spanish and English. This session considers multiple frameworks for "college readiness" within the context of K-12 DLI pathways with the goal of implementing policy and practices to increase predictors of college retention and completion.

Time in this session will be dedicated to discussion and sharing of ideas by participants. Please join in this conversation to explore and expand awareness of college readiness in two languages.
