Short Description
This paper examines whether personality traits influence financial ability and financial independence of emerging adults. Furthermore, the associations between personality traits, financial ability and independence, and emotional and psychological well-being are also examined. Using the most recent wave of the Panel Study of Income Dynamics and its Trasition to Adulthood supplement, the results indicate that personality is associated with both perceived financial ability and financial independence, and plays an important role in the emotinal and psychological well-being of emerging adults.
