SNAP ARRA Expenditure response Consumer expenditure survey

Short Description

In this study, I use a difference-in-difference design and find the increase in SNAP benefits in 2009 causes low-income inframarginal households to increase their food consumption and non-alcohol beverages consumption using Consumer Expenditure Survey (Diary) data. However, it shows that this increase does not cause households to increase consumption for other healthier food categories, such as fruits, vegetables and so on.
