The session shares research findings on pre-service student learning in SEI courses and need for more critical consciousness of their own culture-identity lens (Equity Vision) for a culturally responsive pedagogy for ELLs. This responds to the urgency for critical linguistics amidst aggressive anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies of exclusion
