Moving to the Alma library services platform (LSP) from an integrated library system isn’t just a one-time project, but an opportunity for a library or consortium to improve its project management competency. The presenter will provide an overview, from the project management perspective, of the ILS-to-Alma migration process and will describe how learning and experience gained during the migration period can support later LSP work (such as extending Alma functionality and performing systems integrations via APIs). Finally, the presenter will provide information on tools for improving personal and organizational project management, including engagement with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
