Session Description

Women are in the workforce in dramatic numbers yet earning less than male counterparts. There are too few women in positions of leadership. Barriers exist and need to be overcome. Learn from women at different stages in life sharing what helped them advance, breaking the glass ceiling in leadership positions. This is for women by women. From graduate school to family, to work/life balance and managing stress, you won’t want to miss this session!

Amy Takayama-Perez is the Dean of Admissions at George Mason University. She brings over 22 years of college admission and secondary school counseling experience. She holds a master's degree in Counseling & Development/Higher Ed.

Jayne Caflin Fonash, JCFONASH Consulting

Jayne Fonash, who has a background in mental health counseling, has worked as a school counselor for more than two decades and is a longtime member of both NACAC and the Potomac & Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC). She was PCACAC’s president in 2010-11 and served on NACAC’s Government Relations Committee from 2012 to 2015, earning the association’s Excellence in Government Relations Award in 2013. Jayne is now a retired school counselor and serves as an Independent Educational Consultant.

Mildred Johnson serves as Dean of Admissions at Radford University. She has a long tenure in higher education having most recently served as Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at VA Tech. She holds a master's in counseling.
