Session Description

Speaking from the “I” perspective, one professional from the high school side reflects on the responsibility of being a white college counselor at a predominantly white institution. She shares her journey toward understanding her own racial identity and cultural lenses, and developing awareness that race affects our counseling practice--both with students of color and white students. This Anchor Talk will include personal examples of intent vs. impact; building resilience; and being part of the school’s diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
