Session Description

Leveraging partnerships in strategic ways can better the capacity and success of college support work. But how and with whom should you partner to boost outcomes? This exercise-based workshop will coach you through the formula and best practices for finding and collaborating with your allies in the field.

Candace Crawford, E.L. Haynes Public Charter School
Brief biographical sketch, to include educational background

Candace Crawford is the Director of College Counseling at E.L. Haynes Public Charter School, where she has partnered with CDI to build the school’s college advising office. She was previously the executive director of Teach Plus DC, a nonprofit that supports teacher leaders, and assistant director for pre-K through 12 schools and district assistance at the Education Trust. Ms. Crawford has taught history at the middle and high school level. She is a former trustee of Capital City Public Charter School. Ms. Crawford earned a bachelor’s degree in history at Dartmouth College and a master’s in education policy at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Fall 2015 cohort of the Pahara Next-Gen Leaders Program.

Tracy Kyttle, Collegiate Directions
Brief biographical sketch, to include educational background

Tracy Kyttle is Program Manager at Collegiate Directions (CDI), pioneering their School Support division aimed at using best-practices to strength the capacities and outcomes of high school college offices. In her prior role as counselor, Tracy supported CDI's direct Scholars program serving first-generation students from the tenth grade through to college graduation. Previously, Tracy worked in Columbia’s Office of Financial Aid calculating aid eligibility. She frequently serves on committees with local, regional, and national agencies to impact access and retention work at all levels. She co-leads the Special Interest Group for Community Based Organizations with NACAC and sits as an inaugural member of Lehigh University’s Counselor Advisory Board. She holds a bachelor’s in sociology and psychology from Central Connecticut State University and a master’s in higher and postsecondary education from Columbia University.
