Program Summary
This presentation reports on changes in gesture use by 13 language teacher candidates before and after short workshops on the body as a teaching resource. Results show that after the workshops, teacher candidates had overall increased the use and duration of iconic (representative, "foreground") gestures when spontaneously describing lexical items.
