In an environment where security breaches are common place, this session will discuss common security issues facing libraries and practical ways to mitigate these risks. This session will appeal to both IT staff and non-IT staff in academic and public libraries. IT security threats are becoming more sophisticated. Keeping on top of current threats is beneficial to all libraries for both staff and patrons.

Biography
Calvin is an experienced software developer at the SFU Library. Having worked on numerous web based projects, he also has extensive experience with dealing with security issues such as digital forensics, brute force password attacks and sophisticated phishing attacks. He has previously presented at conferences such as Access, code4lib and BC NET.
