Speaker Abstract

Starlight is an all in one software designed by a roll-off company in Denver, Colorado. In under 6 years the company went from 6 roll-off trucks to 34 roll-off trucks and is now the largest roll-off company in Colorado.  GreenWaste of Sacramento is the first Zanker Recycling company to implement the software into their daily operations.  The software allows real time tracking of all trucks, dumpster inventory, and recycling reporting.  Drivers no longer use paper workorders and all routing is done through their smartphones on the fly.  This allows GreenWaste drivers to be the most efficient as possible, reducing drivetime, reducing fuel consumption, as well as full asset tracking of dumpsters. When a driver delivers a dumpster or removes a dumpster the dumpster is assigned an inventory number and using the GPS of the phone the location is automatically tracked.  The software also has full capabilities to allow customers to use their smart phones to order a dumpster via a secure application.  Starlight also has the capabilities so that customer can also run their own recycling reports at any time to keep track of their diversion rates.  GreenWaste drivers can upload pictures of all weight tickets, pictures of the loads, and all are automatically assigned to the customers job site location via Starlight. This eliminates the many hours of tracking down weight tickets, pictures, that are required for recycling reporting.

Speaker Abstract

There is an inherent risk of fires in our waste and recycling facilities due to traditional hazards and the increasing threat of lithium-ion batteries in our waste and recycling stream.  During this session we will discuss the fire trends we are facing in the industry as well as the combinational approach to planning and fighting fire incidents with a focus on the first moments before a fire occurs and before the fire professional arrivals.  Additionally, we will be highlighting the Fire Rover, the only firefighting solution on the market today that combats incipient fires and explosions within seconds from ignition. The Fire Rover solution combines: 1) Automated Thermal Detection; 2) Remote Human Verification, and; 3) Remotely Operated On-Site Suppressant/Elimination, essentially allowing fires/hotspots to be cooled and eliminated before they can escalate to a major fire incident.
