Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 11:20 AM–12:50 PM PDT
Salon A
Workshop Description

The dizzying pace of the news cycle combined with the Trump’s active attempts to dismantle the rights of transgender people can make it hard to figure out which legal protections are still left. Given this landscape, it is critical that providers are able identify potential legal issues and advocate for their patients. This session will provide an overview of the legal landscape, the most common legal issues, and steps providers can take to help their patients start to navigate those legal issues. Topics covered include discrimination, correcting identity documents, and family-law disputes.
