Gender Affirmation Surgery for MTF Patients
Workshop Description
This program is designed to help participants gain knowledge of Dr. Marci Bowers' current MTF techniques. She will talk about her one-stage vaginoplasty procedure and familiarize participants with her procedures, as well as show examples of recent outcomes. Participants will also be informed of auxiliary MTF surgical offerings (such as tracheal shave and labiaplasty). Dr. Bowers will answer specific questions after her presentation and offer mini consultations as time allows.

Marci Bowers, M.D. of Burlingame, California, is widely acknowledged as a pioneer in the field of Genital Reassignment Surgery and is the first woman to hold a personal transgender history while performing transgender surgery. She is a pelvic and gynecologic surgeon with more than 28 years’ experience and has now performed more than 1800 primary MTF Genital Reassignment Surgeries. Dr. Bowers was recently honored as one of the 100 most influential LGBT people on the Guardian’s World Pride Power List and also recognized as one of Huffington Post’s 50 Transgender Icons.
