Workshop Description

In this presentation, we will cover the provision of medical care and management from within a primary care setting. We will cover informed consent, hormones, anti-androgens, and ongoing management of trans and non-binary individuals.
We will cover some more commonly seen adverse reactions and the management of them for those practicing in the primary care setting .

Dane is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Divisional Director of LGBTQ Services at Main Line Health. Dane is involved with both clinical practice as well as the development of the Pediatric and Adolescent Comprehensive Trans Services (PACTS) which provides care for gender non-conforming children and adolescents.
Dane has a special interest in LGBTQ+ health and has presented nationally. His focus is on the practical application of guidelines for primary care providers working with the trans-population. He is currently faculty at Simmons University School of Nursing. He serves on the Jim Collins Board and is a contributor to the Lyon Martin Transline, a national hotline for clinicians seeking assistance in managing transgender patients.
