CEO, Chair

Nicole Tai is CEO of GreenLynx, a reclaimed building materials company based in Santa Rosa, CA. Nicole began working on building materials reuse in 1998, when reclaiming materials on jobs of her family’s commercial tenant improvement company. She has managed over 75 deconstruction and reuse logistics projects around the Bay Area and New York, totalling over 1.3 million residential, commercial and institutional square feet. Nicole’s concentration at GreenLynx includes increasing the market for reclaimed materials, promoting deconstruction and reuse, management, training, client development, and sustainability consulting. Nicole coordinates the Bay Area Deconstruction Workgroup and Chairs the Reuse Alliance Board.

Nicole Tai  will present bold new ideas for creating large scale wood reuse over the next 10 years, and how emissions factors should play a role in determining what gets reclaimed and how materials are reused. Changing our systems and behaviors both at a localized project level and at a regional level are essential to ensuring a new, resilient building materials management movement. We must look at building materials reuse from a use, transportation, and emissions perspective in order to meet our State 2030 climate goals.

Recycling and Public Education Manager

Jennifer specializes in developing and implementing recycling and organic diversion programs and grant administration. Jennifer additionally has extensive experience in the design and implementation of outreach and education for recycling and solid waste systems. Jennifer is responsible for building effective external partnerships to support sustainability efforts by being a proactive leader in the field, encouraging and supporting sustainability efforts of external organizations, governmental agencies, other companies and local communities. Jennifer holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Geography and Biology from the California State University-Chico. Jennifer has over 17 years of experience in the public and private sectors and has been involved in the waste hauling and recycling business since 2007.

Camp Fire, Paradise Ca. The presentation will detail the causes, impacts, aftermath and current situation of the Town of Paradise, with a focus on recycling and waste, in the wake of the most destructive fire in State history.
