Accommodating for Bodies
Workshop Description
Are trans bodies impaired or disabled in some way? This is can be a controversial subject. Disabilities studies and activism has much to teach us about how to understand differently-bodied experience? This workshop will primarily focus on the accommodations which may be needed around a person's sexual well-being. We will look at the research on how trans folks feel regarding the various options available to them. Practical interventions will be explored from prosthetics to phantom sensations to other experimentation which can be used as tools for trans folks and their partners.
