2019 Gender Odyssey

Faith communities are often integral in the lives of many trans and gender-diverse people of color. For so long, rejection of gender-diverse people by faith communities was a higher likelihood than anyone considers ideal. The challenge for many faith communities is feeling that the lives of gender-diverse people are in direct conflict to their values. In this workshop, we will hear from both clergy and church members who have navigated the presence and inclusion of trans people-of-color within their congregations. We encourage workshop participants who are people-of-color to contribute their experiences as well.
