Abstract

The social/emotional neglect and abuse of students have profound impacts on their school success and overall wellbeing across the lifespan. Students exposed to trauma are among the socially neglected and emotionally abused. This session will offer suggestions for not only identifying but also advocating and championing for this most often, voiceless population in your school. School counselors are poised to assist in ensuring positive outcomes for all students including those exposed to trauma.
