Abstract
Professional school counselors are uniquely qualified to advocate for students exposed to trauma and promote a trauma sensitive environment within their schools. They have the skills to identify and support students who have been impacted by traumatic events. In the workshop, the presenters will provide a standard definition of trauma, discuss types of trauma that may present in the local school and provide strategies that professional school counselors can implement on benefit of students.
