Exploring Intelligent User Suggestions
Conference or Developers' Day
Developers' Day
Abstract
At Lancaster University we are always looking for new ways to deliver services, especially those our users are wanting. From our undergraduate students we are hearing that resource lists often have a wide range of resources on them and when they are studying multiple modules at a time they are finding it difficult to choose what to read. With this in mind we have been exploring how we can provide intelligent suggestions to our users based on information we hold about them as well as interactions they have with the library. This session will look at how we have used the Alma and Leganto APIs alongside custom components for the Primo NUI to make suggestions of reading materials for our users. We will take you through the different iterations we have developed already and what we plan to do next as we move forward preparing to roll out a pilot later this year. Expect us to dive into how we have architected this and built a variety of different solutions along the way.
